I am proud to be a graduate of Elizabeth City State University, where I earned a B.S. in Chemistry and a Biology minor, both with high honors. As a tutor, I enjoy teaching mathematics and science, especially trigonometry and chemistry. I tutor students in a number of math and science subjects, including algebra, calculus, geometry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, and general biology.I teach methods of effectively studying and retaining information to allow students to improve their comprehension and increase grades. I encourage students to work through problems on their own in order to build confidence and create opportunities for them to develop questions. Many students avoid pursuing STEM careers due to a lack of exposure to these subjects. I hope to work around this limited interest by providing my students with a greater appreciation and understanding of these topics. I also like to conduct workshops and experiments on theories in an effort to help my students develop understanding and knowledge. Hopefully, students will remember this material and be able to use it in the future to improve their cognitive skills and develop a wider base of knowledge.In addition to tutoring, I am interested in STEM education, reading novels and comics, watching movies, and science research.
